Why Choose Our Playground Certified Mulch?

There are many types of mulches used for children's play areas. However our Playground Certified Mulch is 100% organic, made only of shredded hard wood. To achieve certification, the mulch is tested to be free of harmful metals and chemicals, and is certified for up to a 25' fall if installed correctly. Only organic mulches that have a great amount of shock absorption are able to pass this certification, and is not to be confused with "Playground Mulch" offered by other companies which has not passed inspection.

Our Playground Certified Mulch?

Our triple-ground engineered wood fiber is top in its class for safety and comfort during play. It has passed ASTM testing for being 100% organic, free of metals and chemicals and significant shock absorption for a child to withstand a fall.

What Makes Our Playground Certified Mulch Different?

Playground Mulch
100% Organic Mulch

Reportedly over 200,000 children are treated annually in emergency rooms for injuries associated with outdoor play. Therefore ASTM (American Society of Testing and Materials) standards were put in place to identify and eliminate hazards associated with outdoor play equipment by IPEMA (International Play Equipment Manufacturers Association).

With proper installation, playground owners and managers can be assured that they have minimized the risk of injury caused by outdoor play. For questions about safe installation, please give us a call.

How Does Organic Playground Certified Mulch Compare to Rubber Mulch?

Rubber mulch is another popular mulch type for playgrounds. Both rubber and organic mulch can compress over time and must be refreshed with a thin coat to maintain its shock absorption. However, rubber mulch is a highly flammable material that can leach toxic chemicals and is difficult to extinguish. Care must be taken in disposing of rubber mulch, as it is considered a hazardous material that must be dumped at specific sites that will take items such as rubber tires. This can be a costly expense if you plan to remove your play area from your yard.
